In Late 2012 Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS) commissioned a scope of works project to establish and deliver a long term cost effective solution to plastics in the marine environment.
Avanti Scotland was successful in winning the bid and has in April 2013 commenced a fourteen month project to develop the marine plastics diversion. Each of the ports also generates other waste streams which the enlarged group are able to offer a cost effective compliant solutions for.
The initial project will lead to significant media exposure for the Avanti brand and is expected to lead into an enlarged EU project bid in 2014.
