The trucks will be used in the transfer station and the proposed new Trans Frontier Shipment facility where volumes of flammable waste are stored.
December 2007 - Project Avanti Extensive
Site Re-Development
As any recent visitor to our Charley Wood Road site would testify, Avanti Waste Management is currently undergoing a major site development. The site footprint has doubled in size following the acquisition of neighbouring land, which will provide a new reception area and further office space, in addition to an increase in operational and storage areas.
A Capital Expenditure Programme has been allocated to redevelop both the new and existing sites. Notable projects include; a new modular packaging wash system, including the purchase of a granulator and shredder, to be installed in the Packaging & Recycling Division, an extension and improvements to the current Transfer station facilities and effluent treatment plant, new welfare facilities and training room, and a HGV vehicle park.
December 2007 - Integrated Management System
IMS programme started at Avanti
The management team at Avanti has this month begun the implementation of an integrated management system (IMS). This programme will encompass ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. It is anticipated that the site should achieve successful accreditation by Summer 2008.
